Running Remstar without card: Will I lose the data?

Post by Ergin » Sun Feb 19, 2006 10:10 pm

My EncorePro smartcard died today and I don't have one at least for tonight.
I was wondering if I would be able to recover the data after installing the
new card? I know S8 has such a feature, where it can record the data from
internal memory to the card.

Where can I order spare cards?

Thanks!

With Remstar I believe you must have the datacard in to record the data. I
don't believe you can retrieve that data for periods the card was not plugged in.

Yes the Resmed machines 'accumulate' data so each time you download you get what was & what is new. They roll the data - that is after the data store in the machine fills up they overwrite the oldest data. The machine can be reset to clear the internal store.

Cheers

The Smartcard is where the data is stored, without it the machine will function correctly but the data will be gone.

The card can be ordered at our sponsor, cpap.com. If you are renting the machine or it's under warrenty you can get on for free from your supplier, they probably can't read them anyway. You can try cleaning the contacts on the card. It has been posted, worth a try.

Ergin,

What do you mean by "My EncorePro smartcard died..."???

Was there physical damage done to it?

After reading the card and plugging back, the machine gave an error.
I guess the data was somehow corrupted and the card is not recognized
anymore. I can't erase or format anymore.
