Intellipap AHI's

My AHI is mostly between 3 and 4 each night. One night it was 1.5 but never under 3 again. I think I feel better when its 2 or less. During the summer and in the spring, before I got this machine, downloads from loaner were seldom above 2. I'm wondering if AHI's are just higher with the Intellipap. My presciribed range is 6 - 12, with 10 being the fixed pressure. The wider range causes me to have weird, unsettling dreams, so I have finally tightned it to 9 -12 or 10 - 12. With the tighter range of 10-12, I am going to the 12 more. With the 9-12, I am staying mostly ar 10.5. Last night was really extreme with AHI 4.5 and EPI 11 with 7% of time at 12. (I don't have the smart link, just the smart code.)

I wonder why with the tighter range, I hit the upper limit more. I have the smartflex set at 2. Can't remember the exact e and i round - its 1 and 2 but not sure which is e and i. (I am downstairs and no time to go look!). Any thoughts are appreciated!

I average an AHI of 1.5 consistently with my Intellipap and have many nights below 1 with my lowest ever AHI being a 0.3. That said, I think you need to stop tweaking too much and let things be a setting for a while. If your titrated pressure was a 10, your best starting point for a range would be 8-12. Dreams mean you are getting into REM sleep...the most restorative part of the sleep cycle.

When I first started my therapy, my AHI was in the 2-4 range and I tweaked things by .5 until I found a good mix for me. My titrated pressure is 8 and I started out at 6-10. I now have my pressures set at 7.5-10.5 after much review of my data and how I feel. It seems to be my 'sweet spot' and I have maintained an AHI of 1.5 or less ever since.

My Smartflex is on full time at 2 with my iRounding at 1 and eRounding at 2. Others will tell you they have their Flex set at higher numbers, but remember that the higher it is set, the more impact it has on the pressure itself.

Not sure how tech savvy you are....but we now have an almost beta version of Sleepyhead for the Intellipap for both Windows and Mac. You can try that free, open-source software, if you are up to it....

I have SmartLink and it really is advantageous to have more detailed data from software to 'see' what issues are showing. You have not addressed your mask at all. Do you feel you have a good fit with no leaks? How are the snores? NRI?

Thanks, Emilia - how many nights did it take you to find the sweet spot? My mask fit is good although last night I used my comfort gel cause my nose was stuffy due to a late night snack of raisen cinnamon bread. NRI's usually below 1 occasionaly 1.5. I'm not sure how that range works. I read somewhere, probably here, that EPI should be below 30? Mine usually range from 2 - 6. I'll check out the soft ware - I'm not especially tech savy but can try.

my loaner was AHI 2.1, and the Intellipaper since has been 3.0 (I scored a personal low of 1.5 last night, yipee!)
, so I suspect it reports slightly higher. like you, I only have the smartcode to go by.
following on from Emilias tip, heres the smartlink without software, $50 cheaper, and it is said that Sleepyhead works with it theres a thread yesterday on the new version). that's the route I will go early next year. I go green with envy at these folk with their fancy graphs and all.
