Whoops, I forgot to put back the SD Card

Post by cpaptex » Thu Dec 01, 2011 1:36 pm

The other day I took out the SD Card to D/L the info onto my Laptop and I forgot to put it back in my machine. I've now learned that the machine doesn't store the information. Sad thing to learn. I wish that the machine had just a little bit of memory to save these real time events. I'll be more careful in the future.

I only lost a partial night's worth of data. I remembered about it around 3AM.
I'm getting better day by day. Few if any OA Events, mostly CAs and Hyponeas.

I have Interstital Lung Disease

I have the same machine as you do and I think it does store the info....

you should have your summary data still. All that should be missing is the detailed data.

I have done this a few times. Other than missing the data nothing else is wrong. At least you did not forget the machine or a part. That is more of a problem especially if you are travelling.

So all that is lost is the real time graphics? My laptop is at home and I want to verify that the summary is still there when I get home.

It will look like you missed part of a day with your software. Don't sweat it.

At least your therapy was not compromised.
Some folks use a non-data machine as back-up, when traveling, etc.
Using one full-time would really suck.

PR S1 users who forget to have the SD card in the machine only lose the wave form flow data.
AHI and all the other graphs and event breakdowns are still there. All you have to do is insert the card and let the machine write the data to the card..doesn't take long.

Now I don't know how long it is stored on the machine but I have left the card out all night..wake up and realize it...go get card out of computer and put it in the machine...wait a minute till it does its thing and then take the card back to the computer and only thing missing is waveform flow data graphs.

Leak line is there, event graphs, pressure, snores, AHI...all there. So much more than just summary usage is stored on the PR S1 machine itself.

Only detail that is lost is the breath flow..waveform.

Now I do believe that with the new S9 machines detailed data is lost and only summary usage is stored on the machine.
Edit to clarify..S9 high definition detailed data is lost but other apparent usage data is still present. Not ever having used S9 I am unsure exactly what constitutes high def data.

I did this by accident once on my S9. Summary and "detailed data" were still there and got copied to the card when re-inserted. However, the "high-data rate session" was not. Thus, I got my summary/compliance data, I got my breakdown of individual stats like leak rate, AHI, etc., but I did NOT get graphics.

I think Pugsy and I are talking about the same thing, but using different terms.
Life before my CPAP was really no life at all!

It is my understanding that you should still have summary data yes.
