Hi Maddie

I know that in Australia we can, if we want, screen our calls before picking up the phone.

If you can do that there, you can pick up when you want to, and let let it ring when you don't.

cheers

Thanks, mars. I've had caller ID for a long time. When I met my husband, he did not have it and thought it was stupid, but when we starting living together and he got it for HIS calls, he loved it. This how I've known it was her and how she's out of the nursing home and back in her apartment.

I frequently DO let it go to the machine -- like about 5 minutes ago because I just got up. Had I NOT just gotten up, her phone call would have woken me up.

I guess I have a bit of a guilty conscience (for screaming at her before) and don't want to be any ruder to her.

OTOH -- She doesn't remember I screamed at her - But I do. And because she won't remember is no excuse for doing it again.

Oh well, one of life's little inconveniences I suppose. It's amazing how your perspective can change so radically once the full facts are disclosed.

Maddy, I truly understand your feelings about this dear lady and I've gotten myself in trouble more than once in situations that were over my head, but in your case, you cannot have her to wake you up or disturb your naps. Please take care of yourself first.

You're sweet, Dori. I'm surprised the phone doesn't bother me more than it does. Although, I was sound asleep Friday afternoon (masked up and comfy) when the phone jerked me out of a great sleep. Caller ID just said "Georgia" so I answered it. Some political recording. Ruined a great nap.
