Once you're in the reply screen the most recent posts on a thread are displayed at the bottom of the page. You highlight the specific text you want to quote and then click on the "quote" button above that post. That will put text you want into the reply box with the quote code around it. Like this.
You can also click on quote from the main screen which will automatically take you to the reply screen and insert all the text from that post.msr0459 wrote:How do you reply to specific responses

You can also copy and paste a pair of unquote & quote tags anywhere in the quoted text. Then insert your comment in between them. That's how you get broken quoted text with a response between the portions just like MidnightOwl did above.
