Run to the grocery store and buy everything of the shelves cause you may be snow bound for a day. My son lives in North Carolina and he says that's what they do up there , they panic. He lives in the flat part not in the mountains.

Cyber Money, I mean Monday and Gumby doesn't have any internet access, thanks to AT&T.

Even with Underground service, on a sparkling, sunny Sat. when his phoneline went dead, for no apparent reason.

AT&T says it should be repaired by Wed at midnite. So enjoy your quiet time.

Thanks AT&T, CT where you can get internet access a few weeks at a time with only a week or two between interruptions. ONLY the 3rd time this year. Thankfully Gumby didn't bundle his TV with AT&T.

Come to CT Amos, just leave your high tech gadgets in GA.

Gumby wants to let you all know that att&t has let him down again. When he called in the trouble on Sat they told him the trouble would be repaired by 8pm Wed.

On Sun. a tech showed up and told him the problem is not inside his house but in the underground cable and transferred the ticket to the cable dept. (contractors who will locate the area of the cable and dig the hole). He was surprised to see anyone on Sun.

Mon. morning bright and early another tech showed up to tell Gumby the exact same words. The problem is not inside the house but in the underground cable and the ticket will be transferred to the cable dept.

Gumby says he knew this on Sat so it was not news. But why hear it twice?

Since Mon. no one has called or showed up and as of this writing it could be several more days without landline or internet access thanks to at&t.

Gumby is just happy he did NOT bundle his TV with at&t or he would be without TV now too.

I think this is what happens when companies get arrogant. Do you think Gumby should let Comcast in the house when they knock on his door again?

Wow!! must be an awfully big line down between Mo and Ct...because I've been having problems with ATT too. The last round they told me they'd be out sometime between Mon. and Wed. evening this week to fix it. I will give them credit, they were there on Tues. afternoon...fixed the prob, so have the internet working again. This is the third time in 4 weeks I've had to call them and have the "new" underground line they put in 3 months ago fixed!

Oh, with me they missed the Wed. dealine they set. Then I received the voicemale Thur. which simply said you are all set. No holes dug in the ground, so I seriously doubt there ever was an underground cable problem. Now it just works.

Could it have taken 5 days for them to figure out I was dc'd in error? Someone was in that box on Sat. just before my line went dead.

I have a request in to learn the fix to this problem. I like to understand what is going on so I can help to prevent any future problems.

Let's see how many days I can get from this fix.

AT&T I am rootin for ya

obtw - it turns out I can't get anything for "Customer Loyalty". They have it setup so that if they give you the "Intro Offer" now being advertised that after 1 yr. you would end up paying more than you are now. So you won't save anything but they tell you, you are better off to leave it be.

Gumby is back in the saddle.... for now anyway.

Gumby,

It is good to hear that you are "back in the saddle again." I have missed you. I do want you to know that I survived the Great 2011 Atlanta Snow Storm. I had planned to build a snow man and name him "Gumby" in your honor. It did not turn out as well as I had hoped. Do you know how hard it is to build a snow man with five snow flakes? Oh, well. I'll try to do better next time.
