TMJ problem made worse with mask

I've been having a terrible TMJ problem over the last year. I've had period of face pain and my bite is out of whack. Right now I'm actually getting Botox shots every three months, taking an antiflamatory and a muscle relaxant. My Quatro FX and chin strap mask make it worth because it holds my jaw in such a tight position. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. Very tired of the pain, but afraid not to wear the mask.
