Ultra mirage FF vs Mirage 2 FF

Post by loonlvr » Thu Feb 16, 2006 9:36 pm

I am buying a replacement mask and as wondering if anyone has tried the Mirage 2? I like my Ultra Mirage but was thinking of trying the Mirage 2? Anyone tried both or the Mirage 2? Seems like it may have more cushion and be more comfortable.

If for example; you found the Activa to be too big and bulky, the UltraMirage2 "nasal" mask would be the one to try as it is much smaller, lighter than the Activa, has a better elbow assembly with NO leader hose and is much quieter because the exhaust is out the elbow.

Compared to your current UltraMirage, the new UltraMirage2 also has the newer style headgear clips, has newer style and more comfortable forehead cushions found on the Activa, UMFF etc.

The UltraMirage2 "nasal" mask is an improvement over what you have now. So I would say yes, if your replacing your current UM go for the UM2. The cushions are identical, so you could exhange the cushions with what you have now.

If you don't have mouth breathing issues the UM2 is a great mask.

The mask is a Mirage series 2 full face mask. I can t use a nasal mask unfortunately.

The Series2 FF uses the exact same cushion as the UMFF. Obviously it lacks the forehead support/adjustment and therefore can rock fore and aft on your face allowing for more leaks. If you develope a leak in the eyes or the chin it is much easier to eliminate them using the forehead support pivot. Think I read somewhere where they were discontinuing the Series2, I don't see it on cpap.com any longer.
