Do you mean the energy-efficient flourescent bulbs ONLY made in China or the regular incandescant light bulbs, invented and made in the U.S.A. by soon to be unemployed U.S. citizens. Maybe we need to be talking about LED Light bulbs that save even more energy, but are overpriced, and I have never checked their country of orgin, due to their high price I haven't converted too. Jim

Invented in USA, yes. Made in USA, used to be but not now. I just checked several packages of incandescent bulbs. The large GE ones are assembled in USA. Phillips large ones are assembled in Mexico. All the candelabra base bulbs are made in China. I don't think there's been a glass factory for light bulbs in the US for many, many, years.

This is a tangential issue that doesn't fit into this thread. Let's drop it.

Kroger's cost cutter brand "Made in the U.S.A." still, and cheaper than GE. The GE's are Robot built by machines start to finish. Jim

I always get a chuckle when someone posts their opinion and then demands the subject be dropped.

My dad catches me at this every time I try it. He calls it the "overwhelming human desire to have the final say."

Now let's drop the subject!

OK! It's dropped like a old light bulb, in the trash. Jim

not so fast
couldn't resist
its amazing with all this crap about being greem and environmentally friendly that our government bans a lightbulb that contains a metal filament and some harmless gas. meanwhile they propagate the shelves with compact florescent bulbs that if dropped contain enough mercury that by epa regulations must be reported and the area decontaminatedby approved means..

i guess i'll go eat some paint chips

Does anyone have a link to the lightbulb manuals? I think mine needs changing, but I don't know how to do that model.

The OP didn't use spellcheck - anal retentive doesn't take a hyphen!

I know this is an old thread but you should NEVER change your light bulb without consulting your doctor first and then your fixture should be taken to your DME to change it for you. You have not been trained to change your own light bulb.

I have now 3 led bulbs, very happy with then except for the price, we will see how long they last.

WARNING: This week I had a CFL bulb explode for no reason, I almost got cut. It had been on about two hours, I reached up and turned it off while walking away, I got 5 ft from it and it exploded. The glass and base covered the floor 6 ft in dia, even the base turned to powder, I was lucky, was barefoot, and could have had it in my eyes. I've had them fail was too soon, but go explode it was a first, ifit happens again it will be a last, one more product from China banned from my house. Jim

Maybe it doesn't require one, but it can take one!! That was a direct copy and paste from another forum so someone else gets to have the blame, if there was any blame there, but there isn't! I just went back and ran spell check on the first post, and the spell checker in Firefox version 25.0.1 is quite happy to let the hyphen stay!! So there!!
