My wife complains my cpap mask leaks, squeaks, and makes noises that wake her up. Is it reasonable to expect a mask that does not do this? I was told by a nurse that all masks make noise.

Masks should not leak. This causes a lot of noise, and also reduces the effectiveness of the therapy. Some masks are quieter than others. You don't need to put up with a noisy mask situation.

You will get more replies if you title your topic something besides random letters, so that people will know what you need help with. I only opened this topic to delete it if it were spam. Spam frequently looks like that, random letters.

I hope there are others that can help more than I. I have never had leaks/noise problems so cannot offer any tips. But I wish you very good luck finding a solution to your problem.

Mine squeeks about once per month. Little leaks every night. So far hubby would rather have squeeks & leaks instead of the constant buzz saw he had to listen to before.
Does your wife understand how important this therapy is to your health and longevity? If she doesn't understand this, maybe she needs to be educated. This therapy is what you need. You also need her to be supportive if PAPpy is going to work for you.
I know it is hard, but we have to ask our partners to be supportive, and keep asking until we get what we need.

A properly fitting mask makes little or no noise.
Mask manufacturers offer a 30 day return policy so your supplier can help you get a properly fitting one.
I suspect the 'nurse' that blew you off is no nurse--go over his/her head.
Insist on a mask that fits.

All masks leak air through a vent. That usually only has a hissing or air rushing noise, although the vent will occasionally whistle or make other noises.

It's quite common for masks to leak a little (or a lot around the edges.) This can make squeaks or other noises. This can be just an annoyance, or can make your therapy ineffective if the leak is too large.

Most of us try to eliminate any leaks other than the intentional leak through the vent. It often takes a lot of tinkering. Adjusting the straps looser or tighter may fix it.

Most things you run in the bedroom make noise, would she rather wake up to a cold dead body in bed, if so make her sleep on the sofa. Jim
