Re: Respironics BIPAP Auto with BI-FLEX for sale Price Reduced
No offense guy but that's the Legacy model and you're expecting System One prices. People on this forum are too savvy to do that. I bought a low hours unit like that on Craigslist for $75 as a spare.

Posts on forums are generally understood to be "or best offer", unless marked firm - that's exactly what this post is.

Re: Respironics BIPAP Auto with BI-FLEX for sale Price Reduced
Well...just so you know what you're up against...
I just purchased -- a brand new (never used), PR System One Bipap Auto (the newest model) -- never used, with all the accessories including a humidifier and 5 new masks -- for $375.
Most people on this forum ARE savvy enough that even if they used the older model, they would spend that much money on newer technology.
But I hope you are able to sell it for what you want out of it.

We're not complaining. You have had this machine listed here for over 10 days and nobody has grabbed it. We're trying to HELP by telling you why. You may get lucky and get someone here that wants it at that price, but it's unlikely.
But good luck.

Re: Respironics BIPAP Auto with BI-FLEX for sale Price Reduced
I, too am looking for a backup machine. After researching, I'm convinced that the Respironics System one Biflex with c-flex, model DS750HS, is the best one for the money. I have an offer for a new one (without saying where) for $800. I'm hesitating because I'm on Medicare, and they have paid for the machine I have now. So I have to maintain the 4-hr per night minimum use.
Apria calls me about twice a year and ask me what my hours are and if I need any new supplies. Right now I have used my present machine for 4500 hrs in 3.5 year with an AHI average of 4.8 (not great, but passable). I found from trials on the Sys. 1 bipap that I can get my AHI down to 3.2. However, my doctor said a sleep study would have to prove that a bipap was necessary. After an additional sleep study (at a cost of over $3000), he stated that the test did not prove that I needed a bipap. So he refused to prescribe one. (at the sleep study, I took ambien, xanax and trazodone all in one night, so I don't think the test was accurate).
So, at this stage, I'm debating on what to do. I am getting frustrated with my sleep doctor. He seems to want to abide more by the rules of Medicare than by the action that would best suit the patient.
So, my question is: should I pay the $800 for the Sys. 1 Bipap, model 750, or should I buy the cheaper one, such as the one you are selling, as a backup, since I have to keep up the 4 hour per night average on my present machine. Or should I just disengage myself from Medicare altogether, turn my machine in to Apria, and just administer my own therapy? Then I wouldn't have to answer to anyone except myself and use the machine that suits me best.
Any advice would be very appreciated.
Jay

I maybe wrong but from what I understand that after Medicare pays the rent on that machine for 12 or 13 months which ever it is that machine is yours lock stock and barrel. I'm on Medicare and I'll own my machine after that rental time.

Normally Medicare does the 13 month capped rental. How long have you been using your current machine?packitin wrote: I'm hesitating because I'm on Medicare,

*sigh* How come nobody offers a lightly used Resmed S9 VPAP Auto w/H5i humidifier for $400 - $500??? I'd buy one for backup/travel or use it and keep this PR S1 BPAP Auto for a backup/travel device. *sigh*

It's not a S1...Legacy versions are tough but not really good travel machines because of size. I'll give you a good deal on an S7 vpap III but it also is too large for travel...Slinky wrote:*sigh* How come nobody offers a lightly used Resmed S9 VPAP Auto w/H5i humidifier for $400 - $500???
