Remstar Auto with Integrated Oximeter

Post by hairnet » Thu Feb 16, 2006 2:06 pm

I read recently that the Remstar Auto now had an integrated oximeter. Unfortunately I cannot find that article again. If I remember right it was an interview with someone from Respironics and it even showed a picture. Can anyone help? Thanks

From the cpaptalk interview with Respironics regarding the release of the Auto w/cflex and the Pro 2:

link -->Auto w/c-flex/Pro 2 release interview

Q: Will the RemStar Auto have any onboard firmware or add-on features such as pulse and/or oximetry measurement and recording? (Similar to ResMed Spirit)

The device is designed to provide 4 therapy types. The device can be configured as a standard CPAP, CPAP with C-Flex, standard Auto-CPAP or Auto-CPAP with C-Flex. The REMstar Auto with C-Flex is compatible with a Respironics’accessory -- the SleepLink™ Modem -- which can deliver oximetry information combined with compliance data.

There is a respironics module as Wader has pointed out. Go to Respironics web site & do some searching. It is there.

It is purchasable & it can gather oximetry data.

ResMed have the same. Somone has been trying to sell a ResMed Spirit with the Oximetry attached unit, on Yahho, for 3 weeks but has no takers yet.

AFAIK Under normal circumstances both Resmed and Respironics will only sell their oximetry add-on unit to clinicians & not the public.
