I was instructed by my tech 16 years ago to NOT USE baby wipes as they contain stuff that will deteriorate your mask. Baby shampoo was suggested which I do now about once a week otherwise I use cpap mask wipes sold on online stores and Walgreens I believe.

I was also instructed to use one part vinegar to three parts cold water for the hose. Let is soak for 30 minutes. Rinse, Hang to dry. I usually use small plates to keep the hose submerged in the solution.

It usually takes forever for all the water to dry up inside the hose so I hook it up to the cpap and let it blow for a few hours.

beware the mysterious stuff, enemy of silicone everywhere.

like most crap spewed by techs in olden times, (and even in modern times) no scientific basis. like the ones that say "don't use alcohol", only scientifically, Isopropyl alcohol has no effect at all on silicone, and ethyl alcohol only a very minor effect (discoloration), yet, some techs will swear up and down it'll destroy your mask...
