Please help Trying to post Sleepy head Data
Im trying to post a snapshot of last nights reading. Im trying to Printscreen and copy and its not working. Any suggestions???
Re: Please help Trying to post Sleepy head Data
What Windows version is on your computer? Is it a laptop?
If older than Vista and Windows 7 you either have to use Paint or some other screen shot saving program.
here is how I do the reports.
Open the image to full size so it is easily read.
I use Vista snipping tool to create a screen shot and crop the image at the same time.
Prt/scr key will also take a screen shot if using XP. If laptop is used sometimes the Fn key has to be pushed at the same time as the prt/scr key
I think windows 7 Home Premium has the snipping tool, Basic may not.
Once the screen shot is created save it in jpg format.
Upload the image to a host site. I use Photobucket it is free, there are others.
Once the image is uploaded then copy the ENTIRE IMG address. Be sure to include the opening and closing IMG in brackets. Paste that copied address into a post here.
Use the preview button. If you can't see the image try again because if you can't see it we can't.

Re: Please help Trying to post Sleepy head Data
When using Photobucket you will see a little box with 4 lines of addresses in it..once the image is uploaded to Photobucket. Put your mouse cursor over the last or bottom line and click on it...you will see "copied" flash in the line.
Then come here to your post and right click your mouse...choose paste...then the entire address line will be showing on your post. Then with preview..you should see the image.
I use the Snipping Tool... better than hot print as you can crop the image and then save it as jpeg for upload to Photobucket.
Snipping Tool is found in All Programs/Accessories.

Re: Please help Trying to post Sleepy head Data
ok a little more help. IM not too pc savvy. I have outlined with snipit. I have logged into photobuctket.com. I hit upload. I cant find it from there. PLease guide me a little more
Re: Please help Trying to post Sleepy head Data
Using snippet...create the screen shot. Once screen shot is in front of you...go to file and choose "save as" then name the file whatever you want then save it and make sure you place the file somewhere that is easy to find. I use the desktop. Then go to Photobucket...upload..direct it to your desktop or where ever you placed the saved file.. double click on the saved file on your desktop (or where ever) to start the upload process...Once it is uploaded you should see it.

Re: Please help Trying to post Sleepy head Data
Ok now to get the photo instead of the link. PLease explain again who to do that. When i drag my cursor over the line it turnes to the word copy. Randy commented for me to copy between both URL. IM a little confused. But at least i got this far. LOL
Thats good for me.

Re: Please help Trying to post Sleepy head Data
You can do the url address and put it between the IMG brackets here on the forum for the image to show without a link.
If you use the regular url brackets here on the forum editor...you get a link to photobucket.
If you copy the bottom line in the Photobucket box with all the address choices....it gives you the IMG brackets and no need to add anything from the forum editor.
Several ways to get to the image or to get the image to show up in a post. The way I do it is easier for me.
copy the entire IMG address and paste it here vs making my own IMG address using the forum editor (those little boxes above where we type). One copy....one paste...done. No inserting between boxes.
