Can't Change settings PR System One REMstar Pro C-Flex+
Hi,
I can't get my Respironics System One REMstar Pro with C-Flex+ to accept changes that I am making via the clinician setup menu.
I remove the SD Card. I get into the clinician setup mode. I am trying to turn off C-Flex, change my pressure, ramp time, and ramp start. I make the changes, I get back to the normal "screen"( via BACK), I insert the SD card (Not write protected). The screen says data activity then Prescription accepted. But, when I start it up nothing has changed.
Anybody have a clue where I am going wrong?
Also, I had a "blow up" on my old notebook so I lost my Encore Pro (how I used to make the changes) and my clinician manual.
Does anybody know the current version number that runs on windows 7 Pro (32 bit)? And where can I get the upgraded package? (PM is fine).
Thanks in advance if you can help.
Dave

is there a prescription on the card? - back in the dark ages with the smart cards once a prescription was read by the machine that part of the card was overwritten by data - I have no idea with these SD cards now.
have you tried using a different card and see if you get data on it? I picked up one at amazon cheap and data can be written on it - I assume WM or like sells them too.

suspect that it's reloading from the card.
Is there a reason why you're removing the card before making the changes?

That's my question too. I had a PR S1 Remstar apap for my first three months and I just left the SD card in. Never had an issue.Cfalame1 wrote: Is there a reason why you're removing the card before making the changes?

I got mine from CPAP.com - so I had to start by entering a prescription into my APAP however the OP might have a script on the card written by his DME
can you provide a list of files on the card? maybe we can figure out which one if any is the script and you can then delete it and see if this problem remains

Have you tried leaving the card in the machine while you do the settings changes? Perhaps the changes you make manually via the therapy setup menu would then get written to card... thus replacing the "prescription" that's on the card with, in effect, a new "prescription." I don't know if that would work, but that's what I'd try.

Thanks everybody! Yes, I tried leaving the card in. I got a message "SD Card Error... remove and re-insert" I did that but it didn't help.rested gal wrote:Have you tried leaving the card in the machine while you do the settings changes? I searched the web and found a detailed listing on Apneaboard.com. That write-up said to remove the card before making the changes.
Like I said, I used to use Encore Pro to make changes, but, I no longer have that program.
Anyway, thanks for the help. I guess I really need to find the Encore Pro for my Windows 7.
Cheers,
Dave

I believe that if Encore Pro was used to put the prescription on the data card, you can't change it on the SD card without the Encore Pro software.
You could just use a different SD card, but that may screw up your compliance data. I THINK the machine will go ahead and write the compliance data onto the new data card, just not the detailed data, but am not 100% sure.
How long have you had the machine? Do you own it yet, or are you in "insurance compliance" time?
I wouldn't be surprised if there was a file on the SD card that you could simply remove and delete the "prescription" info. You can copy the SD card data to your computer and make a duplicate SD card that should work to tinker with.

I have had the unit since March 17, 2010 (St. Patty's day lol) so it's mine. I think that you may be right about the use of the Encore software to change the prescription.archangle wrote:I believe that if Encore Pro was used to put the prescription on the data card, you can't change it on the SD card without the Encore Pro software.

I backed it up to my computer so I will look at it and see what I can do. There is some help over at the Sleepyhead project.
I hope that I can find the current version of the Encore software.
Thanks again,
Dave

Work Around Found
Well I took a freshly formatted SD card and put it in the unit.
I then made my changes and they took.
So I guess that the unit always keeps the current prescription and some data (like when I had to send the card in for compliance data) so it gets written to the card when you insert it. Then if you make the changes they can be saved. I think that I found out the cause of the original problem. I was using the MAC version of SleepyHead, I inserted the SD Card without write protecting the card. MAC OS wrote a small file on it. Evidently, that really puts the machine in a "bad mood" .
Now, I don't need the Encore software so badly. The SleepyHead "slices and dices" the data better than the Encore Pro and it is a lot faster.
Thanks again to all my fellow forum users for the help.
