I always think it is commendable when people want to go overseas to help people, but I often wonder why more people don't help though who live right here at home. Maybe with you being on CPAP it is God way of saying it's okay to stay home and do good things for those who live around you. It will be safer for you and in the long run, you will be able to help more people as you continue to look out for your health with your CPAP. There are always charities who are looking for help. Homeless shelters, soup kitchens, meals on wheels, etc. And the people are just as needy.
Best of luck to you,
John

I have checked with our local mission director and the person with the actual mission themselves. This is a trip that several of our church members go on annually - would have been a first for me - but my fellow church members and our local mission director are speaking from past experience. Where they go in Honduras is VERY remote...up in the mountains. They start the journey on the first day and night in a more civilized area of Honduras, but after the first night, it's on to the remote location for the rest of the trip.amos wrote:kkb,
This is a follow up of my previous post and PM. I have been in touch with my son and DIL who have made several mission trips to Honduras. They both say that each place that they stayed had electricity. They said that your mission director should know the answer. So check with s/he, and you may get to go - cpap and all.

Kim,
Wow! Your Mission team does go the second mile. In that case, I go back to my original advice to you. Take care of yourself first or you will not be able to care for others.
