first plane flight with CPAP

I flew this weekend to see my daughter in Texas. I flew small jets and turbo props via Continental. No issues. TSA did not even blink. I put my CPAP in the bin and took the blower out. They xrayed it but never handled it. They actually told me to place in the bin for xray and how so the agent did not have to handle it. They were very professional and quick about there job. Very matter of fact.

I use to work in a secure building so I am use to the scanners, xray and bomb sniffer booth.

On the way back home I was chosen for a pat down. A female agent did the pat down. I let her know I had worked in a secure building before so it was no big deal to me. The scanned my belongs and an agent watched them while I was in the pat down booth. Then I was on my way. Quick and painless.

As I told the agent I have lived overseas where travel security has been very tight for many years. So the security rules do not even phase me.

On the first leg of my flight in I was asked to removed my liquids from my bag. Coming back TSA said they could easily xray and see in my bag so no need to remove.

I used bottle water while I was away as the water in Texas is horrible when it comes to limescale. I tried to keep the packing and the stuff I carried to a minimal since I had to fly a really small planes.

I have to say all the staff I encountered where very helpful and friendly.

Good that you had no problems. I have flown a couple of times with my parents. My Mom has a pacemaker so she always has to get the pat down. She also suffers from dementia - they always let me go with her so she doesn't have to go for the pat down alone. I feel sort of bad for the screeners - she has almost no filters left anymore and makes all sorts of inappropriate (funny, not nasty at all) remarks to them. She asks if they will take her to dinner or if they want to have a smoke after they are done!
