It's Halloween Tonite

It really is Halloween Tonite in CT. The towns decided with last weeks snow on the ground to push back the celebration to Sat. with the thought that most should have their power back by then. Most do but many still don't. The snow has melted and the kids are out in force, tonite Nov. 5, 2011.

Trick or Treating might be more fun without electricity. Of course, people would have to go back to candles for the Jack O Lanterns, etc. Why spoil the experience with street lights?

Prob cuz there was a foot and a half of snow on the ground and trees across the roads with no where to walk it was deemed to be unsafe. And most felt they were not likely to open their doors with no lights to see.

Edit: OH and there were many, many live electric wires down on the ground in the dark.

Some towns won't celebrate until next week bc they still have trees blocking the roads others still have no power.

This a week after someone proposed a national change to move Halloween to be Sat. holiday.

Your snowman made the obits here. He melted into the grass and turned green. My condolences, my friend.

Oh, my! And such a good snowman, too! Cut down in the prime of his life. Maybe we can get Bons to come up for a memorial service.

88k customers are still without power tonite. A total of 2500 crews are "instate" and working on outage problems. The new goal for restoration is midnght Wednesday.
