Resmed Escape Auto

Post by 6PtStar » Sat Oct 29, 2011 2:18 pm

I know that the Escape auto does not collect Data. I have a friend that got conned into an Escape Auto when his "M" Series Auto died. He says his DME read his card and told him he is doing fine because his pressure reading in auto mode was where it was suposed to be. Anyone know if the Escape Auto does in fact tell you anything about the pressure readings it goes through or even an average pressure? I told him that I thought he was being scammed by his DME and he should go back and get an Autoset but so far it is going over his head.

The S9 Escape Auto does indeed collect minimal data. AHI and pressure.
I saw it at the ResMed Product site.

He should ask for a print out and a review.

Check mark in S9 Escape Auto. Scroll down to Efficacy data. AHI and Pressure only.

If it were me, I would still insist on another full data machine. But there are those people who just don't care or don't want something else to learn.

To me, life is a learning experience. If a day goes by and I haven't learned something then I have wasted it.

I wouldn't settle either. It would drive me crazy (short trip too) knowing I was missing out on something but each to their own I suppose. Some people don't care and some people put blind faith in the medical system. Whatever floats their boat though. Not my job to judge.

Thanks everyone. I did not think to look on Resmed's web site. I did check a couple of online suppliers and it was not very clear. I will keep working on him to swap it for an Autoset but with AHI and Pressure data I think that is all he is interested in. May be a fight with a real short stick.

The Escape Auto does show AHI and pressure data. But "leak" data is not collected at all (thus, not reported) by the Escape Auto.

Leak data is extremely important, imho.

I wouldn't have that machine.

Leak data is the second thing I look at in my data. My understanding if you are in Large Leak (which my friend is often prone to) the machine quits collecting AHI data. With out leak data is the AHI valid at all?
