I see that we are able to check for providers under the Local Services option but do we have the capability to review these providers?
Maybe a 5 star system or just a thread?
My first provider had my prescription for a month and never bothered to call. It turned out they were bought out by another provider but never bothered to notify new patients. I only discovered this after my prescribing physician called them.
My second provider was absolutely horrendous: not showing up for scheduled appointments by the sleep therapist and not calling to cancel or reschedule, not providing equipment replacements on time, etc.
In fact my father is still using my previous DME and has now had three appointments where the therapist never showed or canceled.
My new provider - so far- seems to be doing a great job.
Just a thought to float around to other members.

Re: DME Reviews?
I see where someone has set up a similar service for a city in California; but for dentists and their patients.
Apparently, the site is paid for by memberships, as corporate sponsorship would make the whole thing useless.
As a free public service, it would still have to be paid for--and have some immunity against civil action (lawsuits),
as the majority of comments would indeed be negative. Sad, but true.
You could check on a prospective vendor with the BBB; a DME is indeed a business.
They are easy to find online. There may even be foreign alternatives.

Re: DME Reviews?
You and your relatives need to submit complaints with the local BBB.
It will not work unless people use it; and companies are pressured to clean up their act.
Complaints in quantity, from different complainants, have more clout.

Thank you for your feedback. I did not think about the liability aspect let alone the sponsoring portion. I just figure if we are able to review our equipment it might not be much different. That said you have definitely put things in perspective and I realize that it's probably not a good idea.

Re: DME Reviews?
My only experience with the BBB was when a complaint was recieved about the company I worked for, and the company was pressured to become a member, and then the complaint went away, and I'm sure the customer was pacified. $$$.chunkyfrog wrote:You and your relatives need to submit complaints with the local BBB.
