I am new to CPAP. Is anyone using these products? I do not think the humidifier is working. How do you know?

If the water level goes down you know it is working. If it doesn't it isn't.
Set the heating knob fully clockwise (see photo linked below)

If that doesn't result in the water level going down after use then yes get it checked.

I use that system and you know the humidifier is working by the little green light, but mainly as dsm says by the water level going down. However, you can also tell by the wetness around your nostrils, the warmth of the air into your nose etc. The humidifier is not a complete solution to a painful throat, for example I have found that the reason I have such a problem is that I don't swallow when on treatment and my throat needs the lubrication of swallowing to stop it getting painful.
Anyway, hope that helps.

Thanks for the tips. I have been filling the humidifier up to the max line and over night there is little change. They say to change the water every night so most of it is being dumped out in the morning. When I test the water it is never warm but stays as cold as when poured. I do think I am getting the mist though and the green light is on.

When I used an ResMed S7 Spirit (predecessor to the S8 Vantage), the integrated heated humidifier that came with the Spirit was the wimpiest, poorest excuse for a heated humidifier I've ever used. It was the "Humidaire 2i". Never felt warm enough even turned up as high as it would go. I thought it was rather stupid to have the green light blink rather than just remain on as an indication that the humidifier was "on", but that's just a minor annoyance. The main annoyance was that the 2i didn't put out enough heated humidification to be useful. When I test the water it is never warm but stays as cold as when poured.
I've not tried the 3i humidifier that is integrated with the S8 machines. But if the 3i is as bad as the 2i was, no wonder it seems cold to you and is not using up water the way heated humidifiers should.
Could be just an individual lemon of a humidifier that you were unlucky enough to get. If you got it from a local DME, perhaps get them to check to see if it's actually heating when on.
This seems to be a common problem with the H3i. I had problems with my humidifier not warming. I found this thread that talked about the problem:

I took the humidifier off my machine and then reconnected it being careful to do a good job. That fixed it. My father recently started CPAP therapy and had the same problem. I tried the same fix for his but it did not work. He had to get his humidifier replaced. The DME lady told him that's not the first time she's had to replace one even though it was new.
In my experience, if it is working properly then the water should definitely be warm.
