You may be doing better than you think. If you subtract the number of events flagged while you were probably awake, as well as the CA's flagged while you were in between sleep and awake--and you could be having a lot of those--then divide by the number of hours you were actually asleep, you may in fact have an AHI<5.

Can you post a screen shot from SleepyHead, and description of how the night went?
Is this the evil side of my brain talking?
'Course not, and I don't think Pugsy (great gal, BTW!) meant that literally. it's a natural impulse to take the uncomfortable contraption off. Many here have struggled to achieve a comfortable regimen. It's an endurance race, not a sprint.

I will have to figure out how to do that. Stay tuned on that.

I am so grateful for this forum. I have much to learn, and my sleep doctor can only give me so much time. The DME I'm using isn't very helpful, either. So, yes, I can see after just a month on CPAP that the collected experience, wisdom, and support from the forum is going to be invaluable. Thank you!

Don't know how to post image of a report? Several ways available. Here is how I do it.

Open the image to full size so it is easily read.
I use Vista snipping tool to create a screen shot and crop the image at the same time.
Prt/scr key will also take a screen shot if using XP. If laptop is used sometimes the Fn key has to be pushed at the same time as the prt/scr key
I think windows 7 Home Premium has the snipping tool, Basic may not.
Once the screen shot is created save it in jpg format.
Upload the image to a host site. I use Photobucket it is free, there are others.
Once the image is uploaded then copy the ENTIRE IMG address. Be sure to include the opening and closing IMG in brackets. Paste that copied address into a post here.
Use the preview button. If you can't see the image try again because if you can't see it we can't.

My Vista snipping tool stopped working a long time ago, so I had to find another way. Here goes:

Image

This was last night, but the pattern is typical. I start out with 2-4 pretty good hours of sleep and then stuff starts happening, and by early morning, I've got leaks, air blowing in my face, and I'm up before I really feel rested.

I saw my sleep doc today, and he thinks I'm doing pretty good. For the mask issues, he sent me to the DME who thought I was doing REAL well getting more than 4 hours of sleep! (Talk about setting the bar low.) The attitude seems to be, "You've got your mask, wear it on your face for a third of your life and if you have any problems with it, come back in 3 MONTHS and THEN you can get another kind, but we're not going to do anything for you now. When I threatened to go elsewhere for my equipment, she said if I did that it would be 6 MONTHS before I could get a different mask because Medicare will only replace headgear every 6 months. I had to argue and fuss and threaten to get them to give me a different chin strap (the one they gave me initially simply slides off my head).

It shouldn't be this hard!
