It's good to hear that hubby is coming around.
It's good to see that you got a great machine. As others have said, you've got some choices on software for looking at your data if/when you decide you need or want to do that.
Finally, you write:
Congratulations for starting off right: It's absolutely fantastic that you made yourself put it back on and kept it on even though you didn't sleep all that well.sl33py wrote: I tried it for the first time last night. First I woke up and it wasn't even on, so I guess I just took it off. I put it back on and I didn't sleep well.
Because the whole idea behind adjustment to CPAP is to teach yourself---both mind and body---that: Time to Sleep = Time to Mask Up. And the best way to do that is to never allow yourself to consciously fall asleep without the mask on.
We're not responsible for what we do in our sleep. And taking the mask off in our sleep is not uncommon at the beginning. But it takes courage and effort and will power to do the right thing and put that mask back on when you wake up and notice the mask is not on your face. So give yourself a great big pat on the back for doing the right thing!
And keep in mind that it will get better: There's a lot to learn in order to sleep comfortably with the hose on your nose. And one of those things is learning to trust the machine. Because we do typically get so used to the air blowing down our airway that we don't always feel it after awhile. And so in the beginning, waking up wondering if the machine is still blowing air is pretty common. Just put your hand in front of the exhaust vents and you'll feel the airflow. That will reassure you the machine is still on when you wake up.
