When you go to ResMed's website and look at the line of products, they definitely have an S9 Escape Auto which is different from the S9 Autoset.
Escape Auto is an auto pap machine but monitors sleep quality usage only, not full data. Also, for those who want it, Escape Auto does not have Auto on/Auto off feature.

So glad you figured out as fast as you did that "some" DME's go on the assumption that us users are just plain old dumb people and won't catch on to their "switch a roos"…… Once you talk the talk and they figure out you know what you are talking about, their attitudes either change for the better or they get hostile that you are questioning their knowledge. You will be able to judge pretty quickly whether you can keep using them or dump them. I had to dump my first DME when they implied that I had no idea what I was talking about. I did though and had already done plenty of research beforehand. Not only did they loose me as a customer, they went out of business in less than a year. Guess I was not the only one who challenged them.
Good luck

The top of the range S9 Autoset with full efficacy download is Resmed product #36005 billable under HCPCS code E0601

The bottom of the range S9 Autoset with just compliance (hours used) and a single combined AHI score (no breakdown, high res data or leak rate etc) is Resmed product #36002 billable under HCPCS code E0601

Re: DME gave me the wrong machine S9 autoset doesn't say ESCAPE

All the machines in the S9 series (except for that Pretty in Pink one which is a different color) look exactly the same on the outside except for the label by the button where yours says AUTOSET.

Likewise, all the PR System One machines look exactly alike except for where they say the the name of the machine. on the top.

That's why so many of us tell the newbies to use TEXT instead of ICONS when listing their equipment. You just can't tell from the pics.
