He's cute. He doesn't look nearly as neurotic as he really is. That will help him a lot when goes out into the world to meet his future CPAP wife after Master Joey grows up.

Excuse me, But Breathie is NOT neurotic!, he is the equivalent of a little boy of about 7 years old. Kindly refrain from negativity please, As i want this post to be G rated for adults AND children, but please enjoy his personality. Thank you.

Jose

Hahaha...I think I'm going to make puddles over that comment SleepingUgly...

In all seriousness though, where is his hose?? Also, wouldn't him having rocket launchers or something appeal more to 7 year old boys? He could use them to eliminate the bad, bad Apnea Monster and keep Master Joey safe from harm.

Breathie doesn't need his hose connected right now, he only needs it when he is about to work for his master Joey, since he is sayimg hi to everybody, his hose stays in his travel bag. But there will be times where Breathie will have his hose connected for you to see.

Why would Breathie need rocket launchers?? Breathie is not violent, his powerful motor inside him is enough to combat his Master's apnea, and Master Joey doesn't have to be awake to see Breathie do it. His priority is to make his master sleep well, not to promote violemce for his master to see.

Police officers don't promote violence, they serve and protect and they have guns, pepper spray, tazers, hand cuffs, etc. I just don't think this would appeal to a 7 year old boy. I had two boys of my own would would relate better to a superhero vs a cutesy device. As a 7 year old, I would choose the superhero to protect me.

If you want 7 year old's to relate, you need to get on their level. I'm not saying to go out and have a world domination thing, but be the protector of his O2 levels.

Hey perrybuc, Thank you for your feedback, i appreciate it.

I am using Breathie the little Cpap as more of a teaching tool rather than a comic book character, my audiance would be geared to 4 to 10 year olds, ( adults can learn from Breathie too ) an example would be Bippo The Hippo, the hippo character that teaches kids to brush well. I want to use my idea of Breathie the little Cpap to teach kids about Sleep apnea, how to use him (Breathie) correctly and how to cope well with their treatment. That is my vision for Breathie, not for him to save the world from bad villans.ill leave Spiderman to do that job, Breathie is here to just teach and comfort.

I am sorry to say and it is only an opinion, but I don't think you got it right. The drawing and the stories we have seen so far don't have an appeal.

Seriously, who is the targeted audience? I suppose some children have sleep apnea. Any thoughts?

The OP said the target audience was 7 year old's. It is written for an audience that is much younger though. Most 7 year olds won't get excited about this. A superhero who they can depend on would inspire them though.

Think of Popeye... back in the day, he was used to get children to eat their spinach. He was a superhero type who fought to keep peace in the world to those who were wronged.

Breathie is all great, but it won't work with a 7 year old target audience. As someone else said, maybe a 4 year old, but not 7. 7 year olds play cops and robbers, baseball, football, are bugging their parents to go see Spiderman, etc. I know, as I had two boys. I think it's noble what you are trying to do, but if you can't reach the target audience, what good will it do? The sing-song style of Breathie I think would turn (or creep out) more 7 year olds.

I welcome your opinion, not everyone here will like Breathie's appearance (mostly tough macho men here that won't admit that a cartoon character is helping them cope with cpap therapy, they are too proud) but if Breathie the little cpap has made at least 1 adult or kid more at ease about coping with cpap theray, then Breathie is fulfilling his purpose. But i guarantee that you WILL learn from Breathie if you give him a chance and read more of his adventures.

I am a lady, not a macho man. I don't find an appeal in the stories or drawing. I am trying to be helpful. The stuff is amateurish. I am saying this so that if you really do want feedback and are not just toying with us, then maybe you can improve things.

Thank you. I will take your advice to heart. And the macho man comment was not aimed at you, i was referring to men in general that think cartoons are too macho for them. Not trying to offend you at all. If Breathie is not helping you or if you dont feel you need his help , then you can stop reading his stories at any time. I am not forcing anyone to read My stories., im just trying to help others.

And i didnt know you were a lady. Thank you for your help.
