Width of Screen

Post by Guest » Tue Feb 07, 2006 11:32 pm

Johnny,

Many times the words exceed the width of the screen which makes it necessary for one to scroll from side to side. Is it possible to contain the words within the normal width of the screen so scrolling from side to side is unnecessary?

As I recall, the side to side scrolling only becomes necessary when a poster has put in a link or a picture or a graph that exceeds the parameters. When that happens, the particular page becomes forever too wide. Johnny addressed this previously:

There are a few different things that could alone or in tandem be causing this problem.

#1 Long "My Equipment" Descriptions.

We will fix this occurring in "My Equipment" profiles.

#2 Long Links

It happens sometimes and can't be made better unless we truncate the link, which will cause it to error out when clicked. Why people make encoded links that long is beyond me. People see amazon and ebay doing it and figure it is a gold standard.

#3 Your screen resolution.

If you head to Control Panel -> Display -> Settings see if you are running 800 * 600. If you are, try moving the bar to 1024*756 or higher. When you do this, make sure you select 32 for color and not 16. This will give you a much bigger screen, but everything is a little smaller. Its a trade off between working space and vision.

Have you tried clicking on the top where it says change font to normal/large/extra large? Maybe you need to adjust your font.
