It's easy (unless you have busy-body issues). Just make sure you are not subscribed to the thread and don't click on it.
Some are not emotionally fitted to engage in intense argument and should drop out of those threads where it gets started.

what happand ??Perrybucsdad wrote:Can we end this thread!? I came to this site to find help with my CPAP treatment and I know I can just ignore this thread, but I FEAR this thread is going to polarize really nice people on this site from helping certain people. This thread was started by a troll and now it seems to just have spiraled out of control. Let's concentrate on helping one another as this is driving me nuts and I'm about ready to leave this group because of it, but I would really hate to do that.
Thanks,
John

I don't know because the original post was deleted. But it would seem someone using the name Tom Brown trolled once in the forum. I am assuming his OP stated something to the effect that faith in God and prayer would cure sleep apnea and CPAP would not be needed.
I do believe God gave us brains and expects us to use them to solve problems, help ourselves, and help others. Faith and prayer go well you have to use your brains to exercise your faith.

Yes, someone deleted the OP as spam.nobody wrote:Did a post get deleted? I'm always out of the loop.
Thinking of quitting CPAP?
No problem, here's the first thing to do when you quit:
Advanced funeral planning. When you give up CPAP, you'll probably need it.

Yep. That's what the trolls do. Stir up emotions and trouble. Their sole goal in life (and what a pitiful life it must be).Gaga58 wrote:This "troll", as you call him, has basically set out to do exactly what trolls do...eat people alive!!
The original troll comment is still accomplishing what they wanted in the first place. Stir up trouble and emotions. When we feed it with our arguments it won't ever die. We have let the troll win and I for one find that I just don't want to do that. I have been involved in some pissing contests of my own... prove this.... prove that..and show my butt but I refuse to do it as the result of some troll. Complete waste of my time and energy. I have better things to do with my time.
Now if someone else wants to continue feeding the trolls and arguing their point......well I guess that is certainly their right but I won't be wasting my time reading it nor making any further responses in this thread.

Such very good advice, NightMonkey!! I do always wonder why it is so difficult for people to do that, but perhaps there are more with busy-body issues than I thought there were.NightMonkey wrote:Repeat after me,

I did have trouble repeating after you, though, because I wasn't sure how to pronounce ">". Reminded me of some of the odd spam posts written in languages that use the Cyrillic alphabet.
Ah yes, busy-body issues. I thought about copying every single one of those posts into on-line translators, just to see what they said.
Колискові і добраніч всім,

Re: God > CPAP
I am a committed Catholic, not that I hold myself out as perfect. I have not seen any bona fide miracles in my 58 years, in the sense of: instantaneous remission of a serious medical condition with out scar tissue. Like a sudden regrowth of a limb.
But I have seen a lifetime full of wonders that a rational person could not just write off as coincidence. I also am blessed with a lifetime of disabilities and health issues that seem to help me keep things in a healthy perspective. I do get tremendous comfort and consolation from my faith.
I have no doubt that God could heal everyone and everything tomorrow, but I'm not ready to give up my health care in all of its manifestations because I've lived long enough with out them to know that that is not the quality of life God has planed for me. If this is one of my cross's I'll cheerfully carry it.
I see my Bipap treatment not as a miracle but as a blessing. I am blessed to live in a time and place where such a problem is understood, diagnosed and treated successfully. And I am blessed that I have been able to pay for my treatment.
And with all my many blessings in this life, I would also expect a few crosses. I don't go hungry, or live in a place where children disarm land mines to support their family. I drive a nice pick up truck, have a wonderful home. I have so much to be grateful for that in the great scheme of things my sleep apnea seems very trivial.
So when I frequently speak to Creator and Redeemer, and He speaks to me my minor health issues just are not important enough to talk about.
And I would also say that their is a time in place for anything. I would not interrupt a discussion on bridge design for a moment of prosthelytizing, any more than I would interrupt a scripture study for a moment of bridge design.
The world is full of rude people, unkind and even mean people. I would pray that those most offended by the messenger, not also write off the message.

Re: God > CPAP
Excellent post Buford! I liked everything in it.
The internet is a little different. I bet if there is a bridge design forum there are many arguments over how many angels can dance on the head of a needle. And in the religion forums, I am sure there have been arguments about bridge design.Buford wrote: And I would also say that their is a time in place for anything.
