I just got my cpap machine a week ago. Three days I slept well and around 9 to 8 hours. The next four nights I wake up after three or four hours and I cannot go back to sleep; brain with thoughts. Last night I went to bed at 10 p.m. and slept but I woke for four hours. I turned and turned a lot and finally I took off the mask at 6 a.m. Then I went to sleep immediately with no mask or cpa machine and woke up two and a half hours. I used to take 50mg otc sleeping pills and I stopped two months ago. I just bought the otc sleeping tabs. I just hope that that is okay.

You're not sleeping as long because Cpap is working! You were sleeping so long prior to Cpap because you weren't getting enough proper rest due to apnea, so you shouldn't expect to sleep as many hours now. And sleeping pills to make you sleep longer will interfere with Cpap, so please try not to use them and appreciate that you now have more hours to play. If you're not feeling rested, however, please detail the issues in this thread, whether mask problems, or anything else.
