My daughter went to pick up her new cpap machine today and the DME rep brought out an S9 escape. She told him that if she accepted it her mother would blow a fit. So he's ordering her in an elite. He didn't know why I'd tell her that, and she couldn't remember a whole lot except that I'd told her that with her asthma she'd be better off.
Her AHI is only 7.9, but when she does have events her blood oxygen sat drops as low as 79. So they're going to start her out on straight pressure of 9 and see what happens over a couple of weeks. I suggested she might want to pick up an oximeter on her own.
Kid was doomed from conception, since I have complex apnea and her dad has (untreated) OSA.
