Problems with Pressure

Post by JPsGirl01 » Wed Sep 14, 2011 2:09 pm

For some reason, when I wake up in the morning, the air pressure in my mask seems to be the same -- or less -- as it was when I went to sleep -- before it has ramped up to full pressure. I'm using a full mask that covers both nose and mouth. This has been an ongoing problem, and I never feel rested when I wake up -- actually I feel worse now than before I started using this CPAP. I've been using my CPAP since August 6th, and I've had it back with the respiratory therapist three times so far and she says that the pressure is set properly. We've tried four different masks. I'm pretty much at my wits end at this point and am ready to just take the CPAP back and say forget it. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum.

It is common to feel like the pressure is nonexistent in the morning. We just get accustomed to it during the night.
What feels like a hurricane when we first put it on feels like a gentle breeze the next morning.

Once we figure out which machine and mask you are using we can offer more specific ideas. Let's hope you have a machine we can use software on to get some reports to see what is going on when you are asleep.

Also some questions...How many hours of sleep each night using the machine? Is the sleep fragment? If so, do you know why? Need to try to figure out why you are feeling worse.
