I am new to using any type of sleep aid. I have been told I need CPAP with O2.
I am in shock at the prices of an O2 concentrator. Where can I get reliable and used equipment?

What is the status of your insurance? I think most insurance will do a month rental on O2 machines.

My insurance only covers rental. and it will wipe out all of my coverage in a short period of time. So Im looking for a place to buy one. but they are so expensive.

If you are new to using O2 you really want to do the month by month Rental. At least until you get used to using it with the Cpap, and learn what the hidden costs for owning your own concentrator would be. With a Dr's Script you can purchase from any of the manfactures. If you lack a script you can purchase from Craigs List, Sometimes Ebay, etc.. However Realize that O2 concentrators last only so long and often they need a lot of internal part replaced or services every one to two years. This can get quite costly. The amount of service needed varries by Manfactur, and working conditions of the concentrator. New machines would have a year warrenty with them. A Craigs list machine is what you see is what you get type of thing.
You might want to check your Insurance because O2 Thearpy does not normally count against Sleep Medicene limits. I think most Insurance Companys do not have a Cap on O2 rental because it is a lifetime need normally. My insurance Caps DME Sleep Equipment at 2500 for 5 years, (Thats Machine, Masks, etc) where my O2 supplies do not recieve any sort of cap. I just pay a monthly 20% of the cost.

Ahh so you have a maximum coverage $ amount and then insurance quits or is maxed out?Kroltar_al wrote:My insurance only covers rental. and it will wipe out all of my coverage in a short period of time.
I am sorry but I don't know where a person can get a good deal unless it might be craigslist or EBay and then one would have to really know their equipment and get very lucky at the same time.
Do you have other health issues that necessitate the added O2? I am assuming that effective cpap treatment is not adequate to maintain desired O2 levels.
