LOL, I have to laugh at this because I have done the same thing many times. Where I live we have sirens that go off every first Wednesday of the month (for weather reasons). Prior to living in the House I liven in now My appartment was behind a coutr house that had one of these sirens tn there yard which so happened to be my back yard and where my bedroom window faced. When ever that thing went off if I was sleeping I would never notice it or wake up.

Though your AHI going down is good it is still high, I agree with the Sheriff shoot for a AHI of 5.0 or less.

Chrisf,

First I think you have the wrong machine listed in your profile. The one you list looks looks like this:
Image
It is an older obsolete machine that does NOT use an SD card to record the data. It uses some kind of proprietary card instead.

I believe that you probably have a Phillips Resprionics System One Auto with A-Flex or a PR System One Pro with C-Flex Plus. These machines look like this:
Image
If your machine looks like this, can you look for the word Auto or A-Flex on it to determine whether you really do have a Auto? It makes a difference. Lots of newbies seem to be confused when trying to find their Resprionics machine on the list of equipment for profiles. The problem is that Resprionics has used "REMStar" on all their machines for something like over a decade or more and the System One name is not on the machine, but rather is on the humidifier.

So please update your profile to show the correct machine.

Next, on the System One machines, that (optional) white filter is supposed to be changed once a month. And if you use the machine in a dusty environment it may need to be changed more often. The gray filter should be washed once a week. And dirty filters do affect the machine's performance. I find that I need to change my white filter once every week or two, and I prefer changing it weekly during pollen season when our windows are open much of the time.
I'll post more later.

Yes, thats correct. My machine is the 2nd one. OK. I'll check out my machine when I get home tonight. Thank you for the plethora of info. I guess I really never got too involved in the cpap while it was working. However, When you are tired and hurting, you look for answers. And of course, you want them immediately. Do you buy the white filters online or do you get them the place that you got your cpap from?

So when I woke up this morning, I felt pretty good at first. However, about 2 hours afterwards I really started to get tired again. When I was driving in to work, I felt bad enough to pull into a parking lot and sit for 10 minutes. I think that the first few days that I felt tired, I was ONLY tired. However, now 6 days in, my body is starting to break down. My Muscles are starting to hurt. My Anxiety is starting to kick in. And I don't feel well. Even though I definately don't feel as tired as yesterday, I still feel crappy. Have you been in this situation before?

Hello Chrisf and welcome. Not to many are overnight successes , you are very new at this, once you get comfy, get leaks under control and get your AHI below 5 you should feel better. Check your machine, post some graphs , and perhaps your sleep study results, and you will get plenty of help and will be feeling better soon. I get filters from my DME, paid for by insurance, if I had to buy out of pocket I'd look online.

Chrisf,

If you can post your graphs, please do so that way we can look at them and give you better help.
If your leaks are under control, my guess would be that your pressure is wrong. BUT this is just a guess. maybe you could talk it over with your sleep doc and see what they think.

I'm using the EncoreViewer 2.0; it looks like I can only get the graphs. I was really looking for just some text. Do you recommend just posting one days worth of data or a combined week?

Graphs are more useful. Not the sumary graphs, just post a couple of typical nights. You will want to look at the leak line and the events lines to see if you are having clusters of events, and what type of events. Do you have a copy of your sleep studys? You could post that also., that will be in text, a few pages long. Kathy

OK. Lets try this again. Today is my worst day so far. I hurt all over. My muscles feel weak and tired. My AHI was 47.8 How is that possible.

Also, I have been trying to attach the graphs from my report. HOwever, I am having no such luck. I have the report in a PDF file. I have tried copying directly from Adobe. I have used Snagit which is a Print Screen editor. I have tried saving the file as a jpg and importing it or copying it in. How do you guys do it?

Put the jpg into something like Flickr, photobucket or the google one. Then you use Img button above to link to it.

I am not farmiluar with your machine or software but to me it looks aaas though your leaks are high and so is your overall AHI. That would, to me, explain your daytime sleepyness.
Someone I am sure will comebye with a better answer.

I'm going to try to sleep with the nasal mask tonight. I usually wake up with my mouth open, so I have always slept with the full face mask. But, I know that all of a sudden this isn't working anymore. So, I will try the nose mask. I made an appointment to see a pulmonologist for thursday afternoon, so we'll see if he has any better ideas. I'n not sure what else to do. I'm just so tired.

Using flickr: select the picture you want to show. In the upper right hand above the picture you will see the face book icon. Beside it is says "share". click on that word and a small widow opens. In the window is a box, below the box are the words html and BBCode, click beside the BBCode one. Now copy what is in the box and paste it into you post here.
When you do that you will see the picture.

If you are mouth breathing you could use a chin strap. I have to use one and I sleep with a nasal mask.
