Citrus II Germicidal and CPAP masks?

Post by TalonNYC » Sat Sep 10, 2011 3:03 pm

Has anyone tried the Citrus II *Germicidal* wipes on their masks?

The info page: http://www.citrus2.com/cleaner.html says it can be safely used to clean any non-porous surfaces, and any non-critical instruments that come in contact with intact skin, which would seem to describe a CPAP mask.

I'm asking because I live in a basement apartment, and the battle against mildew is continuous =)

Please note that I do love the scent of this brand of cleaner, so the lingering odor is not the issue I'm looking to work out. It's just that the one surface NOT explicitly listed is silicone, which is what the masks I use typically have for a sealing surface.

Thoughts? Experiences?

Thanks!

Good question. Somewhere I remember reading that it's not a good idea to wash masks with antibacterial dish soap. Would this be the same thing? OTOH, you'd like to think that a company making CPAP mask wipes would not include ingredients harmful to the mask. Is that a fair assumption? Don't know. Good luck in your quest.

SmartLink module works, but software doesn't, so I'm using SleepyHead. Thanks, JediMark!
