ResMed S9 Leakage and AHI Display

Post by charlestek » Thu Sep 08, 2011 10:10 pm

I just received a ResMed S9 vpap this week. I noticed on the information display there is no numeric indication of leakage, just a smiley face if supposedly the leakage was ok. I'm comparing this to my former S8 autoset which displayed the average leakage in liters/second. Also there is no seperate number for AI and HI, just a total AHI. So this is considerable worse than the S8 which displayed both.

Is there any way to at least show the numeric leakage for the night?

I can't figure out why ResMed would dumb down the information so badly in a new model.

Thanks.

Somehow my post got posted twice because I used the back button on the browser. Can I get an admin to delete one of these?

You can delete your own posts, as long as no-one adds to it. Go to your other post and click on edit then you have the option to delete

press the two "silver" buttons at the same time (it's the "I" button and the button with the two "checked symbols") for 3 seconds. Your hours slept, AHI and "smiley face" will appear. Turn the scroll button down, once and the information screen will appear. It will tell your leak incidences, central and apnea incidents, etc.... I will pm you and send you the clinical manual.

Sorry... I can't sent you the manual on the pm. My computer skills are maxed out. If you will pm me your "regular" email address, I will send it that way.

One number for leak rate does not help me since my leaks are intermittent.

The best way for me to check what leakage is doing is with real time data. Present or past.

If you will move your dial to the house above the humidifier setting When your mask is on receiving treatment it will show real time leak rate and probably more data than your want. I found this by chance though it may be in the manual.

The next morning put your SD card in your computer and check to see what happened over night.

I was surprised to see what was going on and am making adjustments to fix my intermittent leaks from my mouth.

Last night I was dreaming I was talking to someone and the treatment air rushing out of my mouth woke me.....

I installed the ResMed software, which oddly does not support Windows 7. I can read from the SD card, but there must be a way to connect to the machine directly???

It works on Windows 7. You have something wrong with your setup.

During ResScan installation, don't install the drivers.

The smiley or frowny face (I hate those icons) are general indications of the mask fit, not the leak itself.

You need a special adapter to connect directly with the machine. But that doesn't buy you anything anyway. The detailed data is available only on the SD card. The machine stores in onboard memory and transmits by direct cable compliance data only.
