Anyone have rapid breathing with chest congestion?

Post by sickwithapnea17 » Tue Sep 06, 2011 11:21 pm

I had this experience sometimes of waking up rested but with rapid breathing and congestion. 2 years ago though I started to have chronic fatigue with high blood sugar and even now with normalized bloods sugar levels I am still tired and can't sleep that well. I take metformin which helps a lot and has lowered my a1c
is it just my lungs were damaged by 2nd hand smoke and now I have asthma?
can anyone please help me?

OK I got the encore data from 4/21-9/6 and the most severe problem is clear airway apnea which is as high as 9 and then the hypopnea RERA indices which max at about 2 so I don't know what to do about the CA?
ugh I got food poisoning again from bad spinach....

I'd take signs of not being able to breath easily and congestion seriously. Go to a doctor. A pulmonary specialist would be good as they can rule out heart disease and point you to an allergist if it is asthma. The doctor can listen to your heart and lungs, have you blow into a spirometer to see if you have good lung capacity, and other tests.

I agree with Gasp. A doctor appointment would be in order here. Better safe than sorry. You'll feel so much better when you find out it's nothing to worry about!

well I've been diagnosed with asthma my pulm function test shows FEV1 of 73% so my lungs don't really work well
anyway how accurate is the philips auto bipap at recording events? I guess the sleep center was right about 18/14 but I can't fall asleep on it and keep waking up
