SWIFT LT versus SWIFT FX
I have the LT as it was my first mask when I started in March of this year.
I am due for a new mask now and wondered if anyone who had experience with both of these masks can give a pro/con on them so I better know how to order.
thanks

Sleep therapy changed my life for the better, never knew how bad it was before I got hooked to "the machine".
Re: SWIFT LT versus SWIFT FX
The Swift LT was my first mask and I used it till I got the Swift FX last year.
I like the Swift FX best. I like the softer side cheek strap silicone better. The LT plastic cheek arm thing sometimes got a bit close to my eyes and was a bit uncomfortable sometimes.
Both are great masks. I just like the least amount of stuff on my face as possible. Add the FX barrel cozy and even more comfy. Almost like wearing nothing on my face. I never like routing the LT over my head so that feature is not missed with the FX. I prefer to let the hose lay next to me. Don't like it routed over head so I don't use any hose management system.
Some people prefer the LT though. The mask trial that Dane manages has an FX available for trial. Have you seen that information?http://www.cpaplibrary.com/mask-trials.html
FX for Her does have slightly smaller headgear (straps). I have tried both the regular (I can use it also) and the for Her.
Never had the regular LT to compare the for Her size to.

Re: SWIFT LT versus SWIFT FX
I have both. I started with the FX, which I liked but I fought with the hose alot.
I had the opportunity to try the LT, thanks to Jonnybee!
I like the hose clip on top which keeps the hose out of my way. Additionally, the straps are more stable. I toss and turn alot so his helps.
The way the LT back strap is made, I was able to simply thread a piece of velcro through the back buckle to keep the strap from slipping. No sewing involved.
The pillows on the LT just pop out when you want to clean them. I always worried about tearing the FX pillows when trying to stretch them over the tube flange.
I think the fit is about the same. The LT has a pivot function that alows you to adjust the angle of the pillows, which never seemed quite right on the FX.
I keep thinking I'll get the FX out and try it again, but it hasn't happened.
I have to say while the FX is a little lighter, I prefer the LT.
BTW, I can't find any difference between the LT and the LT "for her" except the color. I thought it would be a size proportion difference, maybe a little smaller, but nope, just the color.

Re: SWIFT LT versus SWIFT FX
I have, and use, both the FX and LT. I like them both - the LT seems to fit and stay in place more firmly, but I still have less leaks with the FX. With the LT, I do like that the hose can go over my head, however I can do the same when using a PapCap chinstrap with the FX.

I have both, I find the Lt to feel like a little bit more stuff on my face,, it is also a little more stable.
I like both, the FX is lighter, but I don't have any leak problems with it either. I use small pillows with FX, extra small with LT. I use the FX most of the time and keep the LT with my back up machine for naps in the recliner. Definitely like pad a cheek barrel cozies for both, and strap covers for FX.. Kathy

Any landing you walk away from is a good one; if you don't break your airplane it's excellent.
Re: SWIFT LT versus SWIFT FX
I tried both and consistently got better results with the LT. I think it's very unique for each individual. Some swear by LT, others with Fx. Even though LT works well, I prefer the Headrest, as exhalation is straight up and not at my wife!
Re: SWIFT LT versus SWIFT FX
I have both and like them both - but - the LT is best for me because I am an active sleeper from one side to the other. The LT is more stable for me and I have fewer leaks consistently with it. Were I a back sleeper most of the time I'd no doubt prefer the FX because as Pugsy puts it, it's less on your face.

I'm in the opposite boat. I have the FX and want to try the LT, but cpaplibrary.com doesn't carry that mask. Is there another service that provides mask trials?Pugsy wrote:The Swift LT was my first mask and I used it till I got the Swift FX last year.

CPAP for the rest of your life.
Re: SWIFT LT versus SWIFT FX
LT pillows fit onto a pivot. Whether your nose is short and pointy or long and droopy you can adjust the angle of the pillows for a good fit.
FX pillows comes at a fixed angle.

Re: SWIFT LT versus SWIFT FX
If the LT is working for you, why don't you stick with it rather than change? That's how I would decided.

Re: SWIFT LT versus SWIFT FX
According to the specs, the LT works with facial hair but the FX is not intended for facial hair. That's what the specs say. Our host makes the specs available online.

Re: SWIFT LT versus SWIFT FX
Huh??? They are both nasal pillows. Both rest a bit against the skin between lip and nose. Even if a guy (or gal I guess) had a bushy mustache the end result would be the same for either the LT or FX. I have used both. I don't see where the LT would be better for facial hair...but then I am just a silly user and the guys that design this stuff know it all I guess..... Vents in poor places...Breathe Jimbo wrote:According to the specs, the LT works with facial hair but the FX is not intended for facial hair. That's what the specs say. Sorry, not that I know of. I had one but gave it away. I still have a few nasal pillows left but no headgear.davelikesbeer wrote:I'm in the opposite boat. I have the FX and want to try the LT, but cpaplibrary.com doesn't carry that mask. Is there another service that provides mask trials?

Re: SWIFT LT versus SWIFT FX
I'm just repeating what the specs say about facial hair. You can look on cpap.com for the FX, click on the Specs tab, and scroll down to the bottom of the "associated specifications":
"Facial hair: no"
then look at the Specs for the LT:
"Facial hair: yes."
I'm not making it up. Check it out for yourself.
Pugsy, aren't you a girl anyways?

I like the LT better..stays better put in my nostrils..good fit and seal. I like the "swivel" feature on the front of the LT so i can adjust it to a good fit

Not sure what "facial hair" means, but this goatee'd guy thinks the FX pillows works just fine.
