Is it Art imitating Life?

BREAKING BAD, ART:

Breaking Bad is an American television drama series created and produced by Vince Gilligan. The series is broadcast in the United States and Canada on the cable channel AMC.

Breaking Bad has received widespread critical acclaim, particularly for its writing and cinematography as well as for Cranston's and Paul's performances. It has won six Emmy Awards—including three consecutive wins for Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Cranston—in addition to numerous other awards and nominations.

Author and Grantland.com contributor Chuck Klosterman named Breaking Bad the "best TV show of the past 10 years," edging out Mad Men, The Sopranos, and The Wire. Tim Goodman of The Hollywood Reporter admired the show as "unquestionably one of the greatest dramas in TV history.

PLOT:

A struggling high school chemistry teacher, Walter White (Bryan Cranston), is diagnosed with incurable, advanced (stage IIIA) lung cancer. On a ride along with his DEA agent brother-in-law Hank (Dean Norris), Walter sees a former student of his, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), fleeing the scene of a meth lab. He later contacts Jesse and devises a scheme to become partners in an attempt to combine their skills to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine. Walter says he wants to provide financial stability for his pregnant wife, Skyler (Anna Gunn) and disabled son, and to pay for his expensive cancer treatment. During Walter and Jesse's first days of selling Albuquerque's finest meth, they encounter a series of problems with local drug dealers.

California Professor Leads a Methamphetamine Ring, the Police Say
By REBECCA FAIRLEY RANEY and JENNIFER MEDINA

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — For nearly a decade Stephen Kinzey worked as a professor of kinesiology, the study of human movement, at California State University, San Bernardino. A few students complained online that he showed up late for class and could lose his focus. But that was about it.

Now, the police say, Mr. Kinzey, 43, is a man on the run, wanted on suspicion of being the ringleader of a circle of methamphetamine dealers and the president of the Devils Diciples, an outlaw motorcycle gang. (The group spells its name as such.)

Investigators from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department said that they were unable to locate Mr. Kinzey, who they say supplied a ring of midlevel and street dealers with methamphetamine, a persistent scourge in the working-class cities east of Los Angeles.

“One side of him was a successful and productive member of society, but the other side of him is an outlaw motorcycle gang leader,” said Sgt. Paul Wynn, a lead investigator of the case. “He was the highest-ranking person in the group, without a doubt.”

Mr. Kinzey lived in an upper-middle-class enclave in an immaculate two-story Spanish-style home with his girlfriend, Holly Robinson, 33. When the police came to the home last Friday, Ms. Robinson was arrested along with half a dozen other members of the gang, who were there to pick up their share of a one-pound delivery of methamphetamine, police officials said. Mr. Kinzey was not there.

The police found several weapons in the home, including a shotgun, two rifles, two handguns and brass knuckles.

Ha! Never heard of the show. I thought the thread was gonna be about aerophagia and its "end results". Ah, what a sheltered life I lead.

Or perhaps is life imitating art?

BB is at the top of my list for best television shows. Absolutely awesome, AMC has got some great shows.

Have to look for it. Don't know if they would have a show like this one in VA.

The guy in the first pic looks like my old therapist.

If you get cable or satellite, it's on AMC, which I think is part of any 'basic' package.
