More proof that there are MANY ways one can get hosed in Las Vegas!

Hey, SOMEONE had to say it...

The OSA patient died quietly in his sleep.
Unlike his passengers who died screaming as the car went over the cliff...

just to followup on this idea... when I called them this morning they said, "I had to be a patient."

That's a crazy business policy!

One would think that, in today's sh*tty economic times, a one off sale to an out of town visitor would be better than no sales at all... but then, what do I know.

I could understand if it was someone looking for a machine or other "Rx Only" piece, but for someone on the road who has their kit with them but needs a (I would imagine) non-Rx part to continue their therapy, I think that exceptions could be considered/made.

Do you care to name the co that wouldn't help you so that in the event one of the rest of us ends up in Vegas in a similar situation to yours, we know not to waste our time by calling them?

The name was like Lin or Lynn or something like that. I understand what you are saying but to be fair to them I was using their emergency services which is probably not profitable and made avaiable to their customers.... But I really don't know.... For these misc. Type parts I wish I could just walk into a cvs or something like that...

This is a prime example of why anyone who is traveling should have use maybe cpap.com to request their doc send an RX. I suspect that an RX on paper for a state outside Nevada would not be valid in Vegas. Or would it?????

I know some people can do go without a humidifier but I really can't.

Thanks everyone,

Rob
I'm glad to hear that worked for you. You can't be in the desert and not have a humidifier. I know because I live in the desert. I always have my humidifier cranked up as high as it will go.

Sounds like LinCare; Since they're a really BIG company,
it probably wouldn't hurt to establish some kind of relationship with them.
They probably DON'T make money on emergency service--but to USE them as a back up--hmmm.

Also remember, if you have a decent (or better) relationship with your home DME a quick call to them explaining your predicament and providing them the number of the local DME where you are at and asking if they will intervene on your behalf will sometimes work wonders to open doors (and get supplies). I've had to do similar things with my local pharmacy but, knock on wood, not yet with my DME. I'd expect my DME to assist based upon our relationship so far.

Will Cpap.com ship to hotels within the Continental USA & Hawai'i?

I've got an Rx with them and travel to the U.S. a fair bit, so as long as they'll ship to like say The Bellagio or the Sheraton Waikiki, I would contact them in a heartbeat for emergency replacement supplies.

I tried my home DME thinking they might have some connection in Las Vegas and they said, "this would have to be handled by the orders department." (or something close to that) and they are closed till Tuesday. She said asked if I could just go without the humidifier and I said I couldn't and she said "You are going to have to go a few days without therapy." She also mentioned the thing about how I was not likely to get any help from other DMEs here because I don't likely have my prescription. (which is true.)

That was my first night since Jan 2009 I went without cpap. I was a complete walking zombie the next day. Before cpap I didn't even know I needed it and now I can't go a night without it.

Cpap.com will ship to any address. I have a friend that goes to Yuma in thier motorhome every winter and he orders stuff from cpap.com, they have it delivered to whatever rv park he is staying at.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.
