Does anyone know of any SIGNIFICANT differences between the two modes? My normal setting is Spontaneous/Timed Mode (with AVAPS). A new RT came out to see me last week and was very surprised that I am using the Trilogy in S/T mode. She claimed that S/T is a bipap mode, whereas PC is a Ventilator mode. AVAPS and a backup rate are available/used in PC Mode.
This conversation came up over insurance coverage, but my insurance has approved coverage in S/T mode. I'm curious about any difference in the two modes.
I set Secondary settings to PC Mode, basically identical to my current S/T settings. I gave it a quick "test drive" sitting in my chair and saw little difference in how it felt/worked. I'm thinking about taking a LONG nap and using PC Mode for it.
Is there any reason anyone can think of that I should NOT switch to PC mode and give it a try?

Well, from another website (and for others than you, Madalot), I found the definition of the S/T and PC:
Unfortunately, this computer is on its last legs, so my attempt to find a clear difference between the two has been thwarted. Time to get out the sledge hammer and reinstall the OS.Spontaneous/Timed (S/T)
Pressure Control (PC)

I'm sorry I don't have the answers, however I am curious to know what you find out.

Re: Ventilator - S/T AVAPS vs PC AVAPS
I tried to sleep in PC Mode. My RT said it was "pretty much the same" as S/T, but it felt more "mechanical" and I gave up after about 15 minutes and switched back to S/T.
It doesn't matter. I was just curious. Thanks anyway.
