Cleaning...

Post by needsleep » Sun Jan 02, 2005 10:26 pm

I've had my cpap and humidifier for about a month now, and have some general cleaning questions. I fully understand the procedure for cleaning the hose and mask, but I'm not quite sure what the procedure is for cleaning the actual humidifier chamber. Also, how long did it take most of you to finally get used to this thing?! Sometimes I feel like chucking it out the window at 3 in the morning. I apparently fell into the 'mild' to 'severe' category, so I'm dealing with quite a bit of pressure. My machine ramps up, so it's not usually a question of falling asleep, but I find myself waking up in the middle of the night and taking it off. I've tried taking a few deep breaths and sticking with it, but sometimes I'm so frustrated I can't do it. Any pointers or suggestions? Thanks for your help...

What is the problem . Does it give you gas? Do you belch all morning ?

Mild to severe covers alot of territory in Apnia Land. How high is your pressure?

Maybe trouble exhaling.

Do yo have a Auto or plain jane cpap ?

Sounds like your pressure is off a bit . As you fall asleep your pressure need may increase. Try an auto if you dont have one already.

Also , Maybe the Algorithem just doesnt work for you. Try a different brand auto cpap.
