A friend has just been dx with sleep apnea and goes for titration next week. He has asked me to recommend machines and DME. His doc has stated he does not like APAP machines. I know that I will recommend he get a data capable machine, but am not sure which of the various models are fully data capable - all the models have changed since I got my M Series and I have not kept up with the new ones.
Can someone give me suggestions that I can forward to him? Insurance is good - pays 100%, so $ is not that much of an issue.
Thanks!

Re: Helping a friend
I would suggest staying within the ResMed and Respironics simply because of the software.
F& P has their software impossible to obtain.
DeVilbiss makes a good machine and offers software for purchase but I don't like the fact it doesn't show some of the stuff the others do.
Avoid the S8 ReMed machines because of the next to impossible to obtain card reader.
ResMed S9 Elite (straight CPAP) and ResMed S9 AutoSet (APAP). Both full data with SD cards for ease in using software.
Good data on screen too.
Avoid the ResMed S9 Escape..only shows hours of use. Avoid S9 Escape Auto..only shows AHI..nothing else.
Respironics PR System One CPAP with CFlex..full data with SD card. Several software choices available.
Respironics PR System One Auto CPAP with AFlex (APAP model) again full data.
Of course on screen data sucks but we have the software.
Avoid the Respironics PR System One Plus CPAP (comes with or without CFlex depending on model)..Only shows hours of use.
The new PR S1 Auto IQ..well better than straight cpap I guess but I wouldn't want it. If I am going to have APAP available I would want it all the time.
