Hi, I noticed some discussing about mouthbreathing with solutions such as full face mask and taping your mouth during sleep. Has anyone heard of or tried a TAPS dental device? It's actually an anti-snoring device that must be prescribed and fitted by a dentist. It's like a mouth guard or the new "invisalign" braces, only you wear it on your top teeth and bottom teeth. The bottom plate has a bar across near the front teeth, and the top has a j-hook (small) that attaches to the bar. It is adjustable and the idea is to hook your top teeth to the bottom teeth and to be able to move your lower jaw forward, providing a larger airway, thus reducing snoring. I've been wear mine, along with my nose mask (that-alien-that-sleeps-on-my-face) and feel that I am slowly learning not to mouth breath at night. Anyway, wanted to know if anyone else uses one.

hi there
i tried the dental mouth piece. it cost me about $200. it didn't work at all for me. it keeps your upper and lower jaws closed but won't keep your lips from opening and the air going out between your lips.
i tried a chin strap and the same thing happens.
i found i needed a full face mask. fisher paykel, model hc 431, standard or small size depening on your face, and weight is a very good mask.
i have spent over $1,000 on different mask.
its said, you can have the best sleep machine in the world but if you don't have the right mask, you'll never sleep right.
this full face mask and the respronic c-flex machine have saved my life, maybe yours too, if you try them.
