Reset Resmed S9

I'm letting someone with a similar prescription borrow my S9. Is there a way to clear the data from the machine itself so the other person doesn't have my old data to sway the long-term data results?

I can't speak for the S9s but the S8s had an option in the Clinicians Menu to Erase Data that erased all data except the total hours on the device and the therapy settings.

Yes, the S9 has that too. Hold down the lower button and the dial for three seconds. "Erase all data" is in the menu with the wrench. In the gears menu at the top, you can adjust the settings to match your friend's prescription.

Be sure to remove your smart card before you do that, or it will be wiped too.

Excellent point, Mike6977.
In this case, since she's starting new, the card should be blank, so I'll suggest she leave the card in for that very purpose.

A one or two gig smart card is cheap enough it wouldn't hurt to buy one to use for your friend and then keep it as a backup should you ever need it.
