Heated Humidifier

Post by Sleepy2011 » Tue Aug 16, 2011 4:41 pm

Is it necessary to use the the Heated Humidifier? I don't like the the way the warm air feels up my nose. I live in Florida and it is humid as hell this time of year. Do anyone not use the humidifier? I have the resmed s9 elite with the h5i humidifier.

No its not necessary. If you are using the climate line hose you can turn the humidifier to off and either use in passover mode with water...or empty.

I am using mine in passover mode right now due to high humidity.

It's actually not necessary to use the humidifier at all.
If you disconnect the humidifier a standard hose (Not heated hose) will plug straight into the side of the S9 Elite.
Some people only purchase the main unit without the humidifier.

It may or may not be necessary. You have to find that out for yourself. Try using the machine with the humidifier turned off and no water in the tank. Or turn the humidifier off and leave the water in the tank.

If your nose or mouth is too dried out, you may need it. Even if you get along OK without it, you may not do as well when the weather changes.

Strangely enough, sometimes the air feels too warm on mine, even if the humidifier is off. I'm not quite sure why.
