Does anyone know if CPAP treatment can cause slight dizziness just after waking up? Thanks H. Hampton

Some people report it. It could be related to sinus/ear issues.

First step I'd take would be to read the possible side effects of any meds you may be taking - especially blood pressure ones. Most of mine list dizziness, Be sure you rise slowly - you could fall if you get up too quickly. I have not read of dizziness being associated with treatment.

Please be sure that you are not covering the exhaust holes in your mask. Your pillow or blanket must stay clear of the mask. CO2 can make you dizzy.

Though I often have dizziness, I suspect my issue is either due to medication and/or neurological problems.

However, the increased pressure upon your inner ear might impact your balance. You don't say, but you seem to indicate it "goes away" after some period of time. If that's the case, I would expect that you will adjust to the pressure and not see this as a problem after a few weeks on CPAP therapy.

I am feeling light headed for several hours after waking up for sure. Trying to be patient since my body is probably pretty confused about what the CPAP is doing to it all night long.

I have been using my cpap for less than a week. After getting over the uncomfortable bloating and abdominal pain, I too experience dizzness in the morning along with nausea for about two hours after waking up. I hope it gets better soon!

datahogg Hi - welcome

Along with the other helpful suggestions, there is always the potential for your breathing rate to impact your feelings of dizziness. But to better understand if this might be playing a role, let us know what make model & settings of your cpap machine.

Me too. I've been on cpap now for 5 weeks however it's only been a week that i've been able to keep my mask on all night. Still just as tired and also lightheaded when i get up. I'm wondering if this is my body getting used to the treatment?
