Per Chance to Dream

I ran across this article on a literary website, The Pedestal Magazine.
The author, Tamara Shaffer, writes about sleep, insomnia, a sleep study, even Dr. Dement. But as I read through all of this, I wonder if sleep apnea was ever once considered. It must have been, considering all the professionals she professed to have consulted about her problems. But I still have to wonder if sleep apnea was completely missed. Or is this simply a classic case of insomnia only. ..... Something to read (I would have quoted it, but it's kind of long):
