Decreasing Tolerance To Lack Of 02 (1 way road to death)

Post by borgready » Mon Aug 08, 2011 1:35 am

Can anyone tell me anything about how their body slowly loses or lost its tolerance to going with out air(apneas) and can this be corrected by not having apneas? I remember reading somewhere that people lose this tolerance when they get sick with diseases.

The heart was the first thing I noticed. It did not have good resting workload tolerance. Guage this by being able to stand and do activies that do not cause the heart rate go up. Active workload was Ok. Then Active heart workload decreased. Then I experienced episodes that triggered hyperventilating after waking up and not breathing. The heart didn't like having to jump into doing a lot of work after going without air so it dumps adrenaline into the system to kick things off and you get uncontrollable shakes and hyperventilating(limb go numb and you can't think). A tolerance built up to this and now I just wake up and try to breath slowly and deeply for an hour or more untill things recover. Most of the time now I wake up not breathing and the hearts double beating gets delayed and you can feel it beating like that untill it recovers.

I guess this road leads to heart attack or failure.

I get hyponeas when using the cpap machines. Its been that way from the start of using the machines. I'm up to a bipap avaps machine. The best thing about this machine is it has an alarm that goes off when you have an apnea for a certain length of time. I start getting apneas and the alarm starts going off and I just get up when they get frequent. Damn doctors are useless and won't tell you anything and kick you out of their offices. Always start with a Bipap machine that collects data. They don't want to do this. Its not in their money making protocol. Think of the data as a way to monitor your progresss or lack of progress. Even with data collection the manufactures try to suppress the data to the patient or the machines abilities to store that information.
