Medicare compliance requirements

Post by jared555 » Sat Aug 06, 2011 7:41 am

I recently turned in the SD card to Lincare for the 30 day check for medicare compliance. When I pulled the card the machine was stating 29 days over 4 hours, an average of about 7 hours/night, AHI of 1-1.1, Large leak 0%.

Is there any reason why I would receive a phone call from Lincare with them stating I am non compliant and they need to set up an appointment other than a possible miscommunication between their staff members? I had mentioned having issues with the 3rd mask I tried (had to switch back to nasal pillows again because neither nasal didn't want to seal and hybrid had multiple issues) but never said I wasn't using the CPAP machine.

Apparently their therapists were out for the day and getting in contact with them is never fun (took 3 phone calls last time because each time they lost my message or forgot to call back).

Perhaps your sd card didn't read the data your machine showed on the display. If this is the case, when you go in to talk to them take a written copy of what your display says. I think if you took your machine in it would show nothing as once it gets unplugged it wipes the info from the display and it would start over fresh when re-connected.
If you would please register as a member and add your equipment (in text not pics) then we would be able to help you more. When we don't know what you are using we are kinda guessing when answering.
Hope this helps you.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

Compliance requirements discussed here. viewtopic/t53287/Medicare-CPAP-Compliance-Rules.html

I don't think it is the hours of use that is the problem which you meet easily. I think it is the need for a face to face meeting. They just need to do the face to face part.

My machine will not remove information from the smart card it does continue to average out when unplugged so if it is unplugged long enough it will zero out, My hubby just started CPAP and it is S9 Elite he unplugged it after 1 week took into DME [not Lincare] and they downloaded all information showing complete information we have copies he had taken the machine as the humidifier was not heating they replaced it no problem .Maybe your card was faulty or was mixed up with another.
