What, I don't "heckle".

I "ask challenging, thought-provoking questions".

Anyway, still at the beach.

However, perhaps you might ask their position on off-label uses of ASV, such as CPAP intolerance, UARS, insomnia, athelete's foot, carpenter ant infestations, anal seepage, and world hunger.

Hmmm (said in good humour )

CPAP Intolerance ? - try something else
UARS - get your nose fixed & stay away from fights
ATHLETE's Foot - improve your circulation & get your blood CO2 level & Ph tested
Carpenter Ant infestation - keep your cPAP on an block of wood in a bowl of water - they won't infest it there !
Anal seepage - your pressure is faaar to high & get your tail sphincter checked
World Hunger - If we put everyone on cPap therapy we might all starve

DSM
xPAP and Quattro std mask (plus a pad-a-cheek anti-leak strap)

Hey Jeff,

Please ask Ms Garrison about PR's "Auto IQ" machine. Specifically this... "After it's been used in auto mode for 30 days, and it switches to CPAP mode using the 90% pressure number, can it ever be reset (through the clinical menu) to do another 30 days of autotitration?" (And then another, and another, and another? )

And...a follow up question for her (yeah, wish I could be there! lol )
When it's set for the 30 days of autotitration, can the minimum/maximum pressure range be set (for example 8 - 15 ) if the doctor doesn't want it to be using 4 - 20 during those 30 days.

Maybe she'll let you look at the Provider manual while you're there?

Hi Jeff

RG wants it

Slinky says do it

What choice do you have ?

At least you won't have SAG etc taking up the whole evening with the anal retentive stuff

But then again, you may end up wishing he was

Good Luck

cheers

Well, now that I've started this thread (mostly to mess with Uncle Dave), I hope I actually make it to the meeting!

It's about a 50% chance that my work will allow me to make it to that meeting tonight.

But IF I get there, I will ask questions, whether anyone there knows the answers or not.

Personally, in harmony with Rested Gal's statement, I would not necessarily believe anything anyone said about the AutoIQ without my seeing it in the clinician manual with my own eyes, though. My whole contention is that few are likely understand it, whatever it does. Don't most docs need office staff to adjust the thermostat at their own office for them? I assume the whole purpose of he AutoIQ is an attempt to make a machine that docs and RTs "can't" set up "incorrectly."

Yeah; I'd really like to see that clinician's manual.
Probably the only source to believe.
It would be fun to see the rep put on the spot, though.

Well then, jnk, since there is only a 50% chance you can make the meeting do you mind if I put RG's question to Mike as well and ask HIM to ask it IF you can't make the meeting???

Mind? Of course not. PLEASE do! I have always been a big believer in system redundancy, either way.

As the official host and man-in-charge at the A.W.A.K.E. meeting, Mike would be more likely to get a decent answer anyway.

In fact, he might be able to call ahead and express interest in the AutoIQ and ask them to bring any clinician manual or sales info they may have so that all the pros at the meeting could see it. Respironics should have actual sales people there, too, for that meeting, I believe, and they would have opportunity to make an AutoIQ pitch to the pros in the room if they had that printed material with them.

Would this combined phrasing work?:

"With the AutoIQ, after the initial autotitration, is it possible for a clinician manually to start another 30-day autotitration in a narrower range of pressures by specifying a minimum and maximum pressure?"

A "yes" to that would cover both concerns, right?

I usually send him a message through sleepguide, since that notifies him by e-mail. I sent him a message that way in case he hasn't seen the comments you left on his page.

His contact info is public, though:
