Those of you who have used both the Activa and the Ultra Mirage II - what are your feeling on both. I currently use the Activa, and love it, but I am looking for a less bulky mask so I can watch TV while falling alseep. What are your thoughts on both of these interfaces?
Thanks for your input. Jen

Activa versus Ultra Mirage II

I have both and I also have used the standard mirage. I like the mirage masks because they are small and much lighter than the activa, but nothing quite seals like and activa. The mirage does come close. I also like the exhaust port system better on the mirage series masks over the activa's. I recently "up graded" from the mirage to ultra mirage. I would recommend the standard mirage over the ultra, if I were making a new purchase. The forehead pads on the ultra are identical to the activa and are an improvement over the standard's, but the quick disconnect feature on the standard is much better on the standard in my opinion. I use the hose quick disconnect system from my activa to remedy the ultra mirage's shortcoming in this area. I must say that having used the standard mirage mask makes using the activa's extra hose extention feel funny, since it adds to the weight.

If you're wanting a lighter mask than the Activa, go with the UltraMirageII, it is an improvement over the old reliable UltraMirage. Improvements to the mask include the newer more comfortable flat-style forehead pads, newer style release clips, the cushion remains the same as the old UltraMirage of which the activa contact cushion was patterned off. It also seals with cpap pressure, the activa improved on that concept but got larger and heavier in the process.
The UltraMirageII retains the better swivel elbow which is quieter than Activa (where Activa & Vista masks went wrong with that elbow and leader hose, if you ask me).
